Description
This Toad and LadyBug Scrapbook was commissioned in Chicago by a daughter whose nickname is Ladybug. Most importantly, her mother whose nickname is Toad received it as a gift. The leatherbound photo album represents the mother and daughter relationship.
Green leather forms tightly over the handcarved and embossed toad. Likewise, the handcarved ladybug features red leather. Black leather covers the head. In addition, a heated nail created branded spots on the ladybug. Silver wire feet firmly attached the ladybug to the book cover. By the same token, silver wire also highlights the trail of the ladybug by forming a swirl.
Three inches of white, off-white, red and green acid-free pages fill the book, bound around three leather cords.
Reinforcing fabric lines the inner hinges for a durable heirloom quality scrapbook. Additionally, green and white handmade paper lines the covers as endsheets.
Hand stitched headbands protect the spine ends of the Toad and LadyBug Scrapbook.
