Description
A crest has been painstakingly created from small pieces of cut binders board. Next, the emblem underwent pressing under thin black leather on this custom Bible with Crest.
CVSC represents Capistrano Valley Christian School. The crest includes an eagle, cross, and “Est. 1973”. Very thin leather was required to cover this design so it could be worked into to all the three-dimensional grooves, as well as to show the fine details.
Handmade paper lines the inner covers of the Bible with Crest.
I removed the original covers and constructed new ones. Subsequently, new extra strong cover boards affix to the Bible for optimum durability. This includes a double layer of 55 pound tensile strength fabric reinforcement at the hinges for extra sturdiness.
In addition, archival permanently flexible glue safeguards the book for a lifetime of use. Therefore, most importantly, the hinges and spine will not crack over time like some books do. Instead, they will remain soft and flexible.
A built-in blue ribbon bookmark attaches to the upper spine for functionality as well as a splash of color.
