Description
This Chickadee Thesis Book houses a Biology thesis about Black-Capped Chickadees. To clarify, printed 8 1/2″ x 11″ sheets were folded on the edge. Then sewn together around the three cords seen on the left.
The custom leather book cover features a handcarved chickadee embossed under black leather. Accents of gold and white deerskin, plus two tones of grey suede, also wrap the book. The light grey curved section rises up a level from the surface as an additional 3-D feature.
Copper wire highlights the curve of the leather. Consequently, this ties in with the copper washers wired on to the cover. The washers serve as a closure for the book with leather laces.
Handmade gold paper lines the interior as cover sheets in the Chickadee Thesis Book. Handstitched headbands wrap in grey and gold threads.
