Family Tree Scrapbook

Description

The Family Tree Scrapbook features a handcarved Tree of Life which is embossed under leather.  Suede brown leather stretches tightly over the design.  Applied one inch at a time, the leather fits tightly into all the grooves with small tools.

50 individual copper leaves adorn the Family Tree.  Firstly, copper is cut and sanded into small leaf shapes.  Secondly, multi-color finishes form on the copper leaves with the use of ketchup, lemon juice, & salt.  Lastly, copper wire attaches the leaves to the angled surfaces.

Handmade sage paper lines the inner covers as endsheets. Brown and gold threads wrap around leather cords to form headbands, stitched directly into the spine ends.

Two layers of 55 lb tensile strength fabric reinforced the hinges, both under the leather and under the coversheets.  This  ensures heirloom strength and quality for ongoing use within a family.

Multi-colored acid-free pages fill the book, handsewn around the four binding cords seen under the smooth brown spine leather. Each page of the Family Tree Scrapbook has been handripped to create a curved deckled edge.

Copper wire accents the book cover edges.  In addition, wire edges the a curve between the brown leather and sage green accent.  Gold leather covers a double level curved platform as well as the front cover raised edge.
