Description
This Green Italian Door Book represents a unique front door style found in Italy. The green door journal mimics the Italian door design of a specific entryway.
Fine papers fill the book, handbound around leather cords. In specific, acid-free papers offer blank pages for writing. In addition, random sheets of rag paper vividly printed with serigraphs add surprise. Also, a few green sheets add color.
A pane of antique clear glass with texture and streaks embed within the cover boards to form an arched window. The door panels have all been handcarved and embossed under the smooth green leather.
The interior view of the cover showcases a suede purple trim around the window.
Door hardware forms from copper sheet metal and wire. For example, a stylized copper doorplate includes a keyhole. In addition, a handhammered copper handle can serve as a pull to open the book cover on the Italian door journal.
A beautiful crinkled green handmade paper with a fibrous backing lines the inner covers as endsheets. As a result, it shows through the arched to window. Strings within the handmade paper protrude from the edges of the book for added interest and texture.
Handstitched headbands protect the spine ends of the Green Italian Door Book.
