This Leather Bound Biography Book is a special edition for the author. A paper bound version required disassembing and refurbishment to create a leatherbound version.
Cover art from both the front and back covers of the paperback version are repurposed. In specific, the front cover photograph transformed into a leather framed version. In addition, the original back cover art now mounts to the inner back cover.
A three-dimensional carved and embossed design features on the upper cover of the memoir book. Likewise, this design decorates many pages throughout the book as a logo.
The original paperback book was not sewn, so the pages were vulnerable to falling out over time. Therefore, refurbishment required sewing the pages together before new coverboards were attached.
Smooth olive green lambskin wraps around the new coverboards. A double layer of 55 pound tensile strength fabric reinforces the hinges to ensure strength and heirloom quality. In addition, archival permanently flexible glue safeguards the book for a lifetime of durability.
Handstitched headbands protect the spine ends, consisting of leather cords wrapped in colorful threads.
Handmade paper coversheets line the inner covers as endsheets in the Leather Bound Biography Book.
