This Leather Bound Memoir Book utilized the original cover art which was on the paperback print version.
The biography book in paperback form did not contain threads in the binding. In other words, only glue held it together so the binding was very weak. Therefore, refurbishing became the first step by sewing the pages together. Thereby, adding strength to the book through use of a double sewn Japanese binding. Plus, 55 pound tensile strength fabric reinforces the hinges.
This personal leather bound Memoir Book contains a life history. This special refurbished leatherbound edition became a family heirloom.
I removed and retained the original paperback book cover. Next, I trimmed it and framed it with bright yellow lambskin. Therefore, use of the image as the focal point is maintained.
A looping copper wire design is featured on the lower front cover. The copper wire logo mimics a design emblem printed throughout the book.
Yellow and red threads wrap around leather cords to form headbands, stitched directly into the spine ends.
Green and white speckled handmade paper coversheets line the inner covers of the Leather Bound Memoir Book as endsheets. A back cover photo from the original paper book cover mounts onto the inner back cover.
