This Carved Tree Leather Scrapbook features a handcarved windbown tree embossed under green lambskin. In addition, 30 individual copper leaves have been cut, sanded, clear coated, and then wired onto the angled leaf surfaces. Multi-color finishes form on the copper leaves with the use of ketchup, lemon juice, and salt. As a result, a variety of copper and green patina leaves fill the leaning tree.
Handmade burgundy banana leaf paper lines the inner covers of the nature design scrapbook album.
Smooth olive green lambskin stretches over the carved tree design. To explain, the tree sculpture is brushed one inch at a time with archival glue. Next, the leather forms tightly into all the grooves with small hand tools until dry. The entire tree design takes shape over many hours, one inch at a time.
Handstitched headbands sew directly into the spine edges. They consist of leather cords wrapped with green and burgundy thread.
Significantly, two layers of 55 lb tensile strength fabric reinforce the hinges. Therefore, they add extra durability and assure heirloom quality.
Multi-colored acid-free pages fill the leather photo album. They are handsewn around the three binding cords seen under the smooth brown spine leather.
Accents of four addition leathers feature suede green lambskin, suede pigskin, suede cowhide, and smooth burgundy deerskin.
Each scrapbook page has been handripped to create a curved deckled edge. Also, curved copper wires accent the Carved Tree Leather Scrapbook.
