Description

The Dos-a-dos Double Journal pairs leatherbound books back to back with pen holders on each as a closure. The modern double binding includes red and orange leathers around the tandem books.

Dos-a-dos means back to back in French.  Certainly, the dos-à-dos bookbinding format dates back at least to the 16th century.  However, the Dos-a-dos style became most common in England in the first half of the 17th century. Specifically, two books frequently bound in this form include the New Testament and Psalter, presumably because church services required both books.

These tandem bound books share a back cover. Therefore, they make perfect his and hers shared journals or volume 1 and 2 for your writings.

Galvanized steel designs offer a modern flair to the Dos-a-dos binding. Moreover, the metal mosaic design extends off the covers to form loops.  As a result, they become pen or pen holders for the double leather journals.  In addition, the pen holders function as closures to keep both volumes securely closed.

Handmade orange and red coversheets line the inner covers of the Dos-a-dos Double Journal as endsheets.  Also, acid-free papers fill each journal.  Another key point, two layers of 55 pound tensile strength fabric reinforces the hinges for extra durability.
