A etched metal plate titles this Irish Scrapbook with Copper Plate, for a St. Patrick’s Day parade Grand Marshal.
I cut and sanded a copper plate to the appropriate size. Then vinegar and lemon juice coated the copper. It sat in the rain a few days a well. As a result, a slight green patina formed on the surface. Therefore, more contrast developed between the etched lettering and the background. Lastly, a clearcoat seals and protects the patina etched surface.
Upon request, green fabric and paper wraps the screwpost book covers. The handmade paper becomes the focus of interest, painted with light sensitive chemicals. In specific, shamrocks covered the surface and then it was exposed to the sun to create green Irish themed shamrock paper.
The book holds standard 8 1/2 x 11 inch plastic pages. Also, since it is bound with screwposts, it is refillable and expandable.
A Celtic Knot Tree of Life decorates the inner cover. In addition, the inner back cover of the Irish Scrapbook with Copper Plate features an Irish Crest.
