This Copper Cross with Rosettes Bible features a custom made stylized copper cross accented with copper rosettes on each corner.
The binding itself required refurbishment prior to building a new cover. In specific, loose Bible pages were sewn back together using a double Japanese binding method. Therefore, a solid structure was attained before attaching a new custom leather cover.
The spine includes five faux binding cords for added texture and an authentic look.
A double layer of 55 pound tensile strength fabric reinforces the hinges to ensure strength and heirloom quality. In addition, and most importantly, archival permanently flexible glue safeguards the book for a lifetime of durability. Specifically, this ensures that the binding will never crack like some old books which have inferior glue.
Red handmade paper lines the interior of the Copper Cross with Rosettes Bible as endsheets. In addition, a red leather built-in pagemarker attaches to the upper spine edge.
Handstitched headbands protect the spine ends. In other words, I wrapped leather cords on each spine edge with green and black threads to compliment the color scheme. They are sew directly into the spine ends.
