I designed this custom leather library donor book to be a functional showpiece. Represented are features of the Roger and Peggy Madigan Library at the Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Names of the donors who made the new library possible fill the book.
The personalized design features their trademark clock framework structure, as seen on the left. It rests on the lowest level of the cover. A suede blue accent curve raises up one level. Handcarved lettering displays on the third top level of the book.
A specific font selection adorns the cover to match all Madigan Library materials and emblems. I handcarved the lettering to fit the library’s theme. Next, I embossed gray deerskin over the shaped letters.
The covers bind together with screwposts. Therefore, the book is expandable. The screwposts hide internally for a sleek clean look. Consequently, the back cover lies smooth and flat. Therefore, the glass presentation table it will be displayed on will be protected and not scratched.
A red deerskin page marker coordinates with a red accent on the exterior of the new library. Additionally, interior coversheets display red French marbled paper. As a result, this beautiful red paper adds a dash of color when the custom leather library donor book is opened. Importantly, the red accents coordinate with the gray and red library theme.
Here are additional examples of Screwpost books if you would like to see more samples.
